It's also easy to forget what success truly means to us. This misalignment can lead to emotional discomfort, leaving us feeling lost, stressed, and detached from our true selves and loved ones.

42 Acres is a special location in Somerset near Frome - a place that encourages community, believes in nourishing the land and people who visit, and growing food with regenerative principles. It is a wonderful retreat location with self discovery and growth at the heart of its ethos.

“Retreats are places of personal refuge. They are places to decompress and discover meaning; places to dream, to learn, to grow, to rest – but, ultimately, retreats are places of self-love. They are dedicated places of permission.”

Seth Tabatznik, Founder, 42 Acres

Our time will be spent between a stunning, secluded farmhouse with log fires and a tranquil, purpose-built mongolian hut.

3 delicious vegetarian meals a day, late morning and afternoon snacks all included.

The Hosts and Facilitators

Julia and Nicola first met 5 years ago at Little Dot Studios, with Julia in her media executive role and Nicola supporting as an external legal and business affairs consultant from Mint & Co. Fast forward and Julia had left the corporate world to become a purpose coach and Nicola had launched ‘mindful mint’ in 2023, a wellbeing and personal development programme for her team and other companies. Seeing the launch on Linkedin, Julia reached out to Nicola and a mere 24 hours later (after a spirited and energised lunch together overlooking the Thames!), the vision for working together on this retreat was born. Nicola and Julia are really enjoying the experience of a conscious working relationship and collaborating on this retreat; an important part of their respective life journeys and purpose.

The retreat idea was born from an empathy for people  currently in demanding workplace roles, feeling a bit (or a lot) stuck, with not enough time for themselves, family & friends, side hustles and passions.  I wanted to curate a powerful experience for people ready to make change in their lives; a safe and supportive environment to explore changing their work pattern or careers and unearthing other interests and aspects of themselves.

I’ve always known that although I enjoyed being a lawyer, I didn’t see my career defining all of ‘me’. Over the last 18 years, I moved from private practice and in-house roles, to setting up and running my legal & business affairs consultancy practice, Mint & Co. In the last 2 years, I adjusted my role to 3 days a week in order to be able to pursue painting, writing, spiritual growth, Path to Purpose retreats, as well as starting Mindful Mint (wellbeing and personal development programmes for the Mint Collective and wider legal and media industries). That 18 year period contained a number of transition periods. But behind each change was a desire to have more flexibility and autonomy, to take better care of myself and to explore old dreams and new interests. What created these shifts was in large part changing my view of success and aligning my life with my values and authentic self.

Along my journey I have inhaled a host of books and workshops around purpose, self-care, Buddhist teachings, embarked on therapy, business and life coaching and re-structured Mint to free up more of my time. The most profound elements on this transition path however, have been my retreat experiences (several of which have been with Path to Purpose's wonderful Charlotte Austin!). They allowed me to step out of normal life in order to focus on tuning into myself and my deepest needs and desires; something that's pretty hard to do in the maelstrom of a normal week.

Many organisations are still failing to focus enough on the wellbeing of their people, and I want to inspire more change in the industry. I still see so many examples around me, and in the press, of high work stress, compromised work/life balance and mental health and wellbeing challenges of career professionals. Mint & Co and Mindful Mint are my own ways of challenging this, and changing this. It’s part of my ‘purpose’ to improve people‘s work/life balance and provide programmes and experiences to help people feel ‘well’ in their ‘being’, so that they can feel alive, aligned and connected - to themselves, their work, family, community and friends.

Julia

I am wholeheartedly passionate about opening the door to self-discovery for others. I love holding a space of trust, compassion, curiosity and wonder, supporting people in walking their own path and join in on their journey for a short precious while.

As a certified Transformative Coach I run a 1-1 coaching practice with a focus on accompanying people through periods of transitions. In parallel I am launching "The Midlife Transformation Method" a hybrid coaching program for women in midlife seeking more self-determination and fulfilmment. I also support the team at Yes Futures coaching with pro bono work for their coaching program delivered to schools. Before creating Path to Purpose I co-founded a residential retreat for young adults with mental health issues.

How did I get here?

It took a lot of meandering until I arrived in a space that allows for peace. I have learned to be curious about every twist and turn in my own journey, treating them as teachers rather than obstacles.

Julia Heubeck

In my 20's I lived in 5 different cities, on 3 continents, did some heavy lifting in traditional education (MBA in media Management) and started work in the then very exciting TV sector. This was followed by a successful career in start-ups and corporate media (Discovery, ProSiebenSat1, Sony Pictures Television).

While work was going to "plan", my family life was falling apart. I kept denying that one was affecting the other until that strategy no longer worked and I felt close to giving up. Stuck in a black hole of meaninglessness and without any hope for change. Working with a therapist worked magic. Suddenly there were options and the first thing I learned was that I am free to chose how I react to what was happening "to" me. This opened the door to a journey of self-discovery.

I ultimately left my career and retrained as a Transformative Coach. While I love coaching, I am eternally curious about every aspect of the human experience - so my approach and further training has taken me into psychology, science, spirituality and somatic approaches. I have received further training in Systemic Constellations, Embodiment Coaching and Usui Reiki.

Charlotte

I am dedicating my life to understanding what it is to be human!

I'm a behavioural therapist and executive coach, working with both organisations and individuals, designing and delivering coaching, therapy and training to ensure that my clients think, create and work at their best. Before founding niu consultancy and coaching consultancy CHAT, I was a producer for the BBC, making documentaries about people and what makes us tick. One of which won our team a SONY Gold Award.

Using my experience as a producer, encouraging people to share their stories and find their voice, I set up CHAT which helps people find their voice through communication coaching, storytelling and authenticity workshops. I'm particularly interested in integrating wellbeing into the workplace, supporting organisations to invest in their people to increase positivity, productivity and profit. I believe you can make money AND have a happy team and I'm determined to kill off the old school corporate mentality in exchange for emotional intelligence and empathy!

Charlotte Austin.jpg

I'm a primary practitioner for the Association of Business Psychologists, accredited by the International Coaching Federation and The Coaching Academy, a Certified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (The British Psychological Society), and as such help clients to deconstruct thoughts and behaviours in order to build more successful ways of thinking and working. I'm also on the Board of Coaches for Save The Children, where I offer pro-bono coaching to those who support some of the most vulnerable people on our planet.

Current clients include Apple, AKQA, Boots, BBC, LAD Bible, Design Studio, Huge, Google, General Mills, Made Thought, Marks and Spencer, River Island, Little Moons, TESCO, The Ministry of Justice, HSBC, Starwood Hotels, We Are Social, WPP. Mint & Co are a recent addition! To whom I deliver a range of coaching and wellbeing workshops for their legal and business affairs consultants, as part of mindful mint.

Drawn to supporting people on a deeper level, I trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, then went on to explore ancient forms of therapy and healing. Living with tribes in South America, Shaman in the Black Mountains of Wales, Lightworkers and Reiki healers. I graduated as a Shaman practitioner in 2017 (The Foundation for Shamanic Studies, Mt Shasta, California).

I'm excited to join Nicola and Julia on this brand new retreat curated specially for corporate professionals, and guiding people through a deeply reflective part of the retreat journey.
